Portland Coast Line

Portland Coast LineBefore I went to visit the light house in Portland, my friend Shannon took me to a state park to view the ocean coast. The coast link in Portland is very rocky. They do not have the typical sandy beaches.

However, a lot of people were in the Two Lights State Park enjoying the view. I snapped this photo of the coast with a couple who had set up their chairs and were just enjoying the view. I have this photo of the Portland Coast online in color as well, but I really like the feeling of the black and white.

Morning Walk at Sunrise

Although you can see the sun coming up over Lemon Bay, the ocean is also beautiful at sunrise. The light is much softer and makes the sky glow in a different way. I think there are fewer people on the beach at sunrise - given the hour - than the sunset.

It is interesting to me that so many people go out to see the sunset every evening. It makes the beach seem much more active than at an early hour. I think getting out early in the morning for a walk on the Gulf Shore is much more conducive to having a ramble.
