Cafe Trieste in San Francisco's Little Italy

Cafe Trieste in San Francisco's Little Italy

This picture is my final image from the brief trip I made to San Francisco last weekend. On the morning I rolled out, I had coffee at Cafe Trieste. Although there are a few locations around the city, the original place is in little Italy.

The great history and cool memorabilia made visit worth it. I also loved how much it felt like a neighborhood place where everyone was welcome.

Fishermen's & Seamen's Memorial Chapel in San Francisco

Fishermen's & Seamen's Memorial Chapel in San Francisco

On my last morning in San Francisco, I wandered to Fisherman's Wharf in the rain. Since I didn't know where I was going, I headed past all the restaurants to the end of the wharf and hooked a left.

I realized there wasn't anything back there, but thought I might be able to cut back through. As I walked a little further, I noticed this small chapel sitting by the side of the wharf.

Tucked behind the buildings was the Fishermen's and Seamen's Memorial Chapel. This tiny building was nestled between the landing area for boats and a boat dock on the other side.

Although there was not a way to cut through, I was happy to have discovered it.

Good Luck Dragon in China Town

Good Luck Dragon in China Town

While visiting San Francisco we hear some loud drums down one of the side streets. My friend and I went to check it out. We discovered this Chinese Dragon was going from store to store to bring good luck to the owners.

Spice Store in SanFrancisco's China Town

Spice Store in SanFrancisco's China Town

During my adventure in San Francisco, my friend and I ventured into a spice store. I loved all of the jars along the wall.

Even better, note the abacus in the foreground of the picture. I love the idea that they use it for calculating sales.

Chinese Butcher in San Francisco's China Town

Chinese Deli in San Francisco's China Town

Since I had to attend a conference in San Jose, I took the time to spend a night in San Francisco. During the day, I wondered through a lot of San Francisco with my friend. One of my favorite places was China Town.

This photo was shot through the window of one of the Chinese butchers. As my friend pointed out, I was virtually the only white person and a couple of times, I was also the tallest person in a few of the stores we went in.

Personally, I love how much you feel submerged when you are in China Town.

McNulty Naps on Trolly

McNulty Naps on Trolly

Since we were going to the way to a NEOUPA meeting across downtown Cleveland, Patrick and I decided to take the free RTA trolley to the meeting.

I was making fun of Patrick for his 'green' briefcase - aka a recyclable grocery bag. The driver overheard me and made a comment that a lot of homeless people who drive the trolley carry the same types of bags.

Patrick did a test run of taking a nap on the trolley - just in case.

Young Adam Rocks Yet Again

Young Adam Rocks Yet Again

You might be thinking, where oh where has Young Adam gone?

It has been awhile since he has made an appearance on the blog. Dec. 5th as a matter of fact. Sometimes, even the rock stars need a break.

At any rate - after a long session of entering content at the office, the crew headed to the Map room for a couple of beers and some yummy pizza. Young Adam must have been pumped, because he had on the full barrage of grooves.

Avocados at the West Side Market

Avocados at the West Side Market

One of the things I love about the West Side Market is the sheer number of things to enjoy. Not only enjoy eating, but looking at.

I usually take my camera to the market with me because there is generally something or someone that is photo worthy.

Shopping at the West Side Market

Shopping at the West Side Market

It was a busy shopping day at the West Side Market. The warm weather brought people out in droves. I was among them - and so were a couple of friends, who were getting absorbed into the crowds of people.

A Flurry of People at West Side Market

The miraculous turn in mother nature produced some warm weather over the weekend. It also brought a flurry of people to the West Side Market on Saturday.

Although parking was an interesting task, I love being at the market on a Saturday. There is nothing better than the bustle of people looking for great produce, meats or other specialties.

As I was going to take a picture of my friends, a shopper rushed by me and became a blur in my photo. What was a seeming annoyance in color, makes a nice image in black and white. It was great to feel the buzz of Ohio City emerge after a couple of weeks of wicked winter weather.

More Steeler Victory Celebration Pictures

I thought I would post a few more picture from my trip to Pittsburgh with my brother to watch the super bowl. The crowd in the street and the bar was incredible.

Celebrating the Steelers Victory With My Brother

My brother and I went to Pittsburgh, our hometown, to watch the Steelers play the Arizona Cardinals in the super bowl. Pittsburgh won the game and the city went nuts. My brother and I were in the South Side and everyone piled into the streets.

The next morning, my brother was interviewed by WQED about the game!
