Permanently in the Up Position

There are a ton of bridges between where I live and where I work. A lot of them cross the river that snakes through the flats. This particular bridge I pass every day on my way to and from the office.

The bridges are very cool because they raise and lower for the large ship traffic on the river. This bridge was having some mechanical problems being raised and lowered. Instead of spending the money to fix the bridge to support mostly industrial traffic, they bridge is now permanently in the up position.

Why fix something when you can leave it along and let people drive around another way? Gotta love Cleveland logic.
